Dr. John Knab is a distinguished interventional pain management specialist with a passion for advancing spine health through innovative regenerative therapies such as the DISCSEELĀ® Procedure. Dr. Knab earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont and completed a residency in anesthesiology at Virginia Mason Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in interventional pain management at the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Knab is the founder and medical director of Elite Spine + Joint in Wilmington, North Carolina, a practice dedicated exclusively to the nonoperative management of chronic musculoskeletal and spinal pain. A respected contributor to the field, Dr. Knab recently authored two chapters in the 2nd edition of Manchikanti’s “Essentials of Regenerative Medicine in Interventional Pain Management”. He also serves on the editorial board of Pain Physician, a leading journal in pain management, where he contributes to shaping contemporary discourse and research.
Dr. Knab has spoken at international conferences on spine treatments, sharing insights and clinical expertise with global audiences. He serves on the board of TOBI (The Orthobiologic Institute) and is also the organizer of TOBI 2025, the premier regenerative medicine conference in the world, scheduled to take place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from August 21 to 23, 2025.
