Biologic Spine Therapy

About

Dr. Theodore (Thad) Workman is Board Certified in Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology and Addiction Medicine. He was admitted to Medical School out of High School. The Inteflex (Integrated Premedical-Medical) Program at the University of Michigan led to an early start in medicine. He completed an Anesthesiology residency at the University of Arizona. Subsequent faculty appointments included teaching advanced techniques for the management of pain as Assistant Professor at The University of Arizona College of Medicine and later, The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine. During over 30 years of spinal diagnostics and interventional nonsurgical treatments, he developed a keen interest in the application of Biologic therapies and Regenerative Medicine to pain treatment. This led to additional training in Cell therapies, including platelet rich plasma (PRP) and autologous stem cells from bone marrow and adipose tissue and he has found the image guided (ultrasound and x-ray) application of these therapies for musculoskeletal and spinal pain very rewarding. Dr Workman believes that Discseel® Procedure represents an advance that will likely replace many current therapies for pain related to the spinal discs, with real world evidence supporting its use even after multiple invasive treatment failures. He has extensive experience in Neuromodulation including Spinal Cord (SCS) and Dorsal Root Ganglion (DRG) Stimulation, and minimally invasive spine interventions including MILD (minimally invasive lumbar decompression) and Vertiflex. Other specialized interests include Health Optimization and Anti-aging Medicine to improve outcomes for cell therapies.
